SEMINARS!!

Orion's Gate Ranch sponsors Alpaca Immersion Weekends a few times per year. This intensive 2.5-day seminar is designed for interested and new breeders and covers a broad spectrum of information such as:

Choosing your alpacas
Herd Management
Facilities for alpacas
Nutrition
Breeding
Birthing
Medical issues
Showing your alpacas
Legal and tax aspects of alpaca ownership

Though part of the seminar is lecture and question and answer, half of each day is spent in the pasture learning about the animals, doing hands-on things like teeth, toenails, injections and other health issues, analyzing conformation and fleece, learning about breeding. There is an extensive notebook of handouts given to participants.

March 31, April 1, & 2 HarNan Farms, VA

April 7, 8, & 9 Orion's Gate Ranch, Tucson, AZ

November 5 & 6 Virginia Alpaca Owners & Breeders Show (2 mini seminars per day)

The cost for these seminars is $200/individual, $250/per couple. Breakfast and lunch are provided both days, and motels are available close by. Please contact us for more information or a mailed flyer.
